Namcheon Historic House with an impressive simple gate is a house of the Burim Hong Clan. It is designated as Gyeongbuk Cultural Heritage Material No. 357, and is known for the biggest scale and history in Daeyul-ri. It is assumed that the house was built during Joseon King Heonjong‘s period(reign 1834~1849), and 11 generations have been living in this house including Hong Utae(洪禹泰).
A well trimmed front and back yard and beautifully grown pine trees makes harmony, adding dignity to the house. One thing that you must look around is the main hall‘s floor and the attic in the house. It is very unusual that a Hanok built a long time ago is 2 floored structure, and if you go up the wooden staircase next to the main hall, you will find "ㄴ"-shaped attic.
